I was in Baltimore a little while ago and had went down to the East Harbor for a great dinner of sushi and a fantastic martini. It turned into a rainy night and I was down at the train station, waiting for the right train to take me back to the hotel. As you can imagine, a full day of speaking and book signing; followed up with dinner, a drink, and rain had made me quite tired.
There was a man in his mid-30s or so also waiting for the train with his 3 kids. They were younger (maybe 3-9). What struck me as fantastic was that this guy was so tuned in to what his kids were saying and how excited they were about the day they had with their dad. You could just see that each child felt like the most important person in the whole world.
We were riding out to the suburbs for a few minutes and the admiration and fascination had not waned from this man's face. It was clear that he was a bit exhausted (parents, you can relate!), but he was so tuned in. I went over to where they were sitting and introduced myself. I said the following: "Sir, this may sound odd, but you are a fantastic father to these boys. The world needs more people like you..."
The guy lit up like a Christmas tree. I asked him for his address so I could send him a book. The book I sent is written by my dear friend, John Trayser. It is called "The Greatful Dad". This book is an amazing story about John and his journey with his 4 boys. Love does make the world go around.
I would strongly encourage any parent or soon-to-be parent to invest in this book. Visit www.greatfuldad.com. You won't regret it!
Yours in success!
