"Everyone can brighten a room. Some when they enter it and others when they leave."

It’s Not a New Year…It’s a DO Year!

This is the time of year when the exercise equipment at the gym opens up, when the walking paths are less crowded, and when most people “fall off the wagon” of following their New Year’s Resolutions. I recently recorded a video about the importance of failing forward when pursuing a goal. This is the time of year when some people get a bit lazy.

I was on a coaching call with an awesome new speaker named Deborah Brunner. We were discussing her progress and efforts since our previous call. She said, “2015 isn’t just a NEW year…It’s a DO Year!”  Tell me that isn’t a battle-cry for awesome success!

Here are 3 simple ways that you can keep the momentum going in your new year to make it a DO YEAR!

1. Accountability partner

One reason why people who hire a coach accomplish more than those who just “wing it” is that they have to show up! Whether you hire a coach, or have a friend who holds you accountable for something you are pursuing; you will only accomplish elite results when you have someone holding your feet to the fire.

2. Checking in with your big 3 daily

What are your big 3 goals? If you have 36 goals, you will never accomplish anything. Pick 3 at a time and master them.

I personally write my goals each morning. I look at them throughout the day because they are posted on my bathroom mirror, and I also meditate about them before bed each night.

Success isn’t like a mosquito that will bite you unexpectedly. You need to set an intention and look for it!

3. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable

No growth ever happens inside of your comfort zone. Push your personal boundaries and breakthrough to a whole new world of possibilities! One thing I love about working out with the trainers at Kosama is that they watch me give everything I have, then pull just a little more from me than I thought possible. The results are outstanding even though the process is sometimes uncomfortable.

Remember that no one cares about your success like you do. You are the rock star in your world. Don’t worry about what others think. Just move on!
