Everyone has the power to brighten a room. Some when they enter, and others when they leave. How many of your friends come to mind when you think of positive and motivating people? How many friends come to mind when you think of those who are constantly ticked off at life and are swimming in a cesspool of gossip?<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Before you come to the defense of terminally grumpy people by explaining that you have “known them for years”, or that “they used to be positive and upbeat…until a few decades ago”; I’d remind you that your life and your happiness will be consistent with those around you.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Do you feel great after a spring cleaning of your home? Most people do. Your life needs focus and attention as well. Here are a few things to keep in mind when cleaning out your people closet:<\/div>\n

    \n
  1. People who constantly ridicule your dreams and ambitions MUST GO!<\/strong>Randy Gage<\/a> writes that people like this are about as useful as a screen door on a 747!<\/li>\n
  2. Understand the difference between someone going through a tough time and someone who is terminally toxic.<\/strong> Life is filled with ups and downs. Whether a friend is going through a challenge with their health, finances, relationships, or anything else; understand the difference between being a supportive friend and being a crutch. I’ve been there for people in their darkest hours, and people have been there for me when the future didn’t look so bright. Appreciate them.<\/li>\n
  3. Constantly grow.<\/strong> I can often tell how committed to success someone is when I ask them what book they are reading currently. Most learning does not happen inside of a classroom. It is up to you and you alone to grow your knowledge base.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Life is an awesome journey. Why not run with those who appreciate life the same way that you do?<\/p>\n
