"Everyone can brighten a room. Some when they enter it and others when they leave."

Ask for a Little Bit More

It is amazing what happens when you simply ask for something extra. Spend quite a few nights in various hotels, and often ask the front desk if they can just upgrade me at check in. Most of the time, it is not a problem. If they can’t upgrade me, I’m no worse off than when I walked in.

Most people are paralyzed by the fear of rejection that they won’t even attempt to ask for what they want. The worst thing that can happen when you ask for what you want is that someone can tell you “No”. They can’t shoot you and eat you.

Ask for the free loaner car when you are getting repairs done, ask for the first class upgrade, ask for the discount on your internet service. This practice is not being “cheap” or trying to get something for nothing. Rather, it is an exercise that is essential for you to grow your “receiving” capabilities.
