How Speakers Can Harness the Power of Video Testimonials

What would happen to your speaking business if you introduced your most excited audience members to potential event planners? Your business would explode exponentially! Any professional speaker will remind you that the best time to book a speaking engagement is right after you come off stage when your confidence is high.

While you will not likely book a speaking engagement, sign an agreement, and walk away with a deposit check five minutes after you finish a presentation, video testimonials allow you to capitalize upon the enthusiasm of your audience… and let them help you sell your speaking services to other potential event planners!

Here are three ways to build your speaking business by using video testimonials:

1. Ask the right people

Ask audience members who are purchasing your products, or people who are very involved in your presentation. If they are excited enough to invest in your product, they will be better candidates for giving video testimonials than someone who does not. I also ask the event planner for a video testimonial. You can check out my video testimonial page at www.ShefVideo.com it isn’t perfect, but it’s a useful tool.

2. ” Coach” the person speaking on what to say

Ask them to state who they are, where they are from, that they just saw me speak (make sure they mention your name), mention that it was a great program, and that they would recommend me. I also remind them that it should be 30 to 45 seconds in the length at the very longest.

3. Upload the video to your YouTube channel

Your  YouTube channel is a great place for video blogs, clients testimonials, and even promotional videos. Please click on the picture above or click here to view a three minute video on how to upload and optimize your speaker testimonial video.

The speaking industry is a fantastic business to be in. Like any other business, your marketing efforts, knowledgebase, and methods of communication are constantly evolving.
